Nex Playground: get ready for the first game

Prepare the TV connection, downloads and play space for Nex Playground, then try the included games before considering an optional Play Pass.

A little preparation makes it easier to start a game without interrupting play for cables or downloads. Nex Playground connects to a display through HDMI and uses its camera to follow movement during supported games. Start by checking the room and completing setup before gathering everyone around the TV.

Connect before playtime

Have your Wi-Fi details, an email address and a smartphone or laptop ready for account setup. Connect the included HDMI cable to the console and TV, select that HDMI input, and use the original Nex power cable as directed in the setup instructions. Check the supplied adapter and your outlet before connecting power.

Follow the on-screen prompts and let the starter games download. A game tile showing Pending or Installing is not ready yet. Nex recommends enabling your TV's Game Mode if it has one. Allow time for downloads rather than promising an instant start.

Give the camera a clear view

Nex recommends placing the console centrally below the TV, near the front of its supporting surface. Clear furniture and loose objects from the play area. Its setup guide recommends at least 6 by 6 feet of space, roughly 1.8 by 1.8 metres; allow more room when needed for the players and movements involved.

Use a well-lit room without strong light behind the players or directly above the console. Keep people who are not playing outside the camera's view. Check the surroundings again when changing games, and supervise younger players.

Try the included games first

The five-game Starter Pack includes Fruit Ninja, Starri, Party Fowl, Whack-a-Mole Deluxe and Go Keeper. Play Pass is optional and separate: it provides access to the wider catalogue. Start with the included selection to understand how the system fits your routine before deciding whether additional games are useful.

Keep the first session simple

Choose one game, read its instructions and take turns learning the movements. This is a setup guide, not a promise of exercise or developmental outcomes. Follow the console's current instructions and each game's requirements.
