WINBOT MINI: a practical window-cleaning checklist

Get ready for window-cleaning day with the ECOVACS WINBOT MINI: check the glass, power, safety tether and pad, then choose a cleaning mode.

Window-cleaning day goes more smoothly when the setup is ready before you start. With a robotic cleaner, the glass, power connection and cleaning pad all deserve a quick check.

The ECOVACS WINBOT MINI combines automatic route planning, a fine-mist spray and app-selectable cleaning modes in a compact body. Here is a practical checklist for working it into a supervised home-cleaning routine.

Choose a suitable window first

Start with smooth, flat, intact glass. Avoid cracked panes, gaps between glass sections, raised patterns and stickers that interrupt the surface. Greasy glass is also unsuitable.

Check the instructions supplied with your unit for window size, glass thickness, frame and handle requirements before placing the robot. A compact body alone does not establish that a particular window is suitable.

For exterior glass, ECOVACS requires calm weather and no rain or snow. Keep the area below clear of people, animals and fragile or valuable objects. The manufacturer's safety instructions are essential reading before use.

Plan the power and safety tether

WINBOT MINI needs to stay plugged in while cleaning. Fully charge its safety battery before use; that battery provides backup if power is interrupted.

Secure the safety tether to a strong indoor railing as directed, lock the carabiner and inspect the connection. Keep the plug and adapter indoors, protect the cable from pinching and stay with the appliance throughout the job.

Prepare the pad carefully

Wet the mopping pad, wring it out thoroughly and attach it flat, aligning its groove with the blue mark. Fill the reservoir with ECOVACS WINBOT cleaning solution without overflowing it.

Follow the illustrated setup in the WINBOT MINI instruction manual. Check the starting area and pad for grit before attaching the robot.

Choose the mode for the job

The ECOVACS HOME app offers three useful options:

  • Fast Cleaning: a routine pass for lightly dirty windows.
  • Thorough Cleaning: a more intensive pass for dirtier glass; the manual also calls this Deep Cleaning.
  • Spot Cleaning: focused cleaning of a particular area.

These modes are described on ECOVACS' WINBOT MINI product page. Choose according to the glass condition and review the result before deciding whether another pass is useful.

Give the pad attention between panes

For heavily stained glass, ECOVACS advises washing or replacing the pad during the job. Remove trapped particles rather than carrying them onto another pane.

At the end, hold the handle firmly, use the stop-and-release procedure and wait for the fan to stop before lifting the robot away. Unplug before routine cleaning or maintenance, and empty the remaining solution.

Start with one suitable, easily accessible window. A careful first setup makes it easier to repeat the same checks when you move on to the next one.
